W hat's the greatest way to take in all of the natural beauty Hawaii has to offer? Go on some of the most beautiful hikes on the Big Island!

Add these lovely treks here on Big Island onto your schedule if you're planning a vacation to Hawaii and really wish to explore the beautiful scenery.

With enormous volcanoes, breathtaking beaches, and surreal lava fields, Hawaii's Big Island is nature lover’s heaven. The view is more spectacular and diverse than you'd expect from a tropical island.

1. Waimanu Valley

It's a challenging trail and it is almost 16 miles long. This valley has an elevation of over 7,000 feet.Take on the Big Island's hardest and most memorable hike.  If the miles and elevation gain mentioned above don't deter you from going on this trip, the Waimanu Valley might be the answer to your wanderlust.

This route transports you to another universe. Expect to see high-altitude waterfalls, enchantingly secluded landscapes, and a beautiful beach where you may spend the night.

This path may be hiked as a day walk or as a backpacking trip, however the only legal sleeping spot is at the trail's point where you're supposed to turn around, just across Waimanu River.

Turbulent river crossings and flocks of mosquitoes will test you, but you'll be compensated with a few of the world's most remote and stunning nature vistas. Simply carry some insect repellent, maybe a mosquito net.

2. Kalopa Nature Trail

It's not that hard to hike on this trail as it has a 0.7-mile distance and the gain in elevation is 50 feet. The reason you should go is to explore and gain insight into the natural Hawaiian rainforests' richness.

The Kalopa Nature Trail, situated far from the island's major national parks and tourist cities, is a unique area to enjoy peace and isolation on Hawaii's Big Island. Kalopa State Park is located on the island's northern windward side, where it receives a lot of rain, resulting in a lush, wet, and just lovely forest.

This educational trail has 20 numbered halting locations where guests may learn about the natural forest's plants and creatures. The ohia trees' lofty canopy shields the sun, providing for a pleasant (and humid) trek.

Despite the fact that the path is brief, the amount of information on the exhibit may cause you to spend more time than you expect. Even if you're pulling a stroller, it's one of the greatest walks on the Big Island for families.

3. Papakolea Green Sand Beach

The total distance of this trail is 5.6 miles. Trailing difficulty is moderate. The gain in elevation is 370 feet. One of the most remarkable walks on the Big Island is to Papakolea Green Sand Beach — there aren't a lot of sites on the planet where one can view a green beach!

Papakolea Green Sand Beach is by far the most accessible of only four green beaches that exist across the globe, thus it is well worth the effort.

Because there is no shade on the path, I strongly advise you to begin early. On a difficult dirt road, you follow the route somewhat inward alongside the shore, sometimes hooking up with the ocean at scenic coves.

After a few kilometers, you'll reach a stunning vantage point overlooking Papakolea Beach. Skirt around the cliff's edge to the region above the beach's center, where a steep slope leads down to the shore. Because the terrain is uneven and easy to slide on, give it your best shot hiking down.

4. Kipuka Puaulu 'Bird Park' Trail

A kipuka is a piece of land that once was magma but it has since been encircled by much more recent flows on all sides. An environment, such as that of the Kipuka Puaulu, evolves when kipuka is left deserted for a long period.

Puaulu, commonly known as Bird Park, is an ancient Fern and Ohia lehua tree forest. Many unique high elevation species, including the beautiful Khalij Pheasant, may be seen during a 30-minute walk along this 1-mile track.

Hiking is a refreshing change of pace from your normal mundane life. It helps you gain perspective and perform better in your life.
